Well...HI!

Hmmm, what to say? Sorry I've been away so long. I can't promise it won't happen again though! I've been busy buying a house and getting a mortgage organized and dealing with window quotes and running a 10K and freakin' working!!! Not to mention finding time for family and just trying to chill out a bit!
We had Little P this Friday/Saturday. What an angel of a kid he is! Slept 8pm - 7am without a peep. Loves running around and playing and just randomly yelling "YAAAAAAYYYYY!!!" at the top of his lungs while dancing. I love him to pieces. He's such a happy kid.
Sunday was spent running. I was nervous about signing up for a November run but it turned out to be an awesome day and I ran my fastest 10K ever!! 1 hour and 20 seconds. Frig I wish I would have been 21 seconds faster! Post run = Starbucks skinny, sugar free caramel latte!! I asked for the gingerbread one but it wasn't sugar free. Next time I'm splurging though! I'm so glad Jen taught me about Starbucks :)
Our new house closes in a WEEK!! What?? That is insane. At least we do have a month following that until we have to be completely out of this house. However, that means paying for TWO mortgages in December. Not the best timing.
Weight has been stable. I track points in my head and I run and sometimes I cheat. It's all balancing out though. Someone asked how I run during the winter. It's simple. I have to run so I can eat!! Little blips (OK, sometimes they're big blips) in food cause minimal damage because I run. That's my motivation.
Tomorrow is our US shopping trip - "YAAAAYYYY" (as she dances around the living room). No work, just shopping. Hopefully the weather holds out.
This weekend = my grandma's 85th birthday party. There is a new baby in the family so hopefully they come so we can see the babe!
I think that's it for the update. Hopefully I can keep you more on top of things so there isn't a need for the marathon post!

OK, this is getting ridiculous. My food this weekend was absolutely awful. I haven't pigged out like that in a very long time. Note to self: DO NOT buy Halloween candy that you like. When will you learn this lesson??? There are always leftovers and you will NEVER be able to stay away from it if it's your favorite!!!!!

Down a LITTLE!

Loss of 0.8 this week. Wow, eh?!? Pathetic, I say! Oh well. I shouldn't complain.
Halloween decorating in progress, chili in crockpot, pumpkin seeds cooked, lemon squares done. All that's left is cutting up the veggies and making the dip. Oh the joy of a Halloween birthday party! Whose idea was this anyway???

Not much to say

My day was OK. Worked then cleaned my house. Food was OK today but the scale preview the last couple days has not been promising so we shall see.
May go to an open house over the weekend and start to shop around for houses finally! Jan. 6th isn't that far away!
Preston will be coming to trick or treat on Friday. I'm informed that we will also be hosting Dad's birthday then as well. Good to know that there is a get together planned at your own house and you are the last to know :) Gotta love the family!
I'll update on the weigh in tomorrow!

Blue team sucks!!!

'Nuff said...well, maybe not - Heba really sucks.

We did it!

We actually finished the race! 21K and 2:24:14 later! Sadly, we took 4 min. more than I had hoped but it was all my Nike iPod's fault! Our pace according to it, was right on. About 3/4's of the way through the race I realized that the pace was off and we had to start pushing it to try and catch up to finish in 2:20. It didn't happen though :( I gave it all I had though (I had to sit with my head between my legs once I crossed the finish line or else I would have puked for sure!!) so there's nothing more I could have done, I guess. Except maybe run a little faster the whole way through and not have to die at the end!! Oh well.
Food wise was a bit of a write off. I had grilled tiger shrimp/baked potato/asparagus for dinner at the Keg the night before the race AND only one piece of bread. But also had a Keg sized caesar!! Then had PB&J on REAL bread before the race + 2 juice boxes. Then had a veggie burger and fries at Swiss Chalet post race. And a slice of pizza and garlic bread from Pizza Nova for dinner.
I think I need to drink more water. I was off yesterday to recoup but find that when I don't have my Nalgene with me (as I do at work) then I don't get my water in.
Muscles are a bit tight and right knee is a bit tweaked but feeling great otherwise!
All in all, a great weekend. It's nice to know I can run a half marathon, even though I'm 3-0!!!!

Better than expected...

I stayed the same! Last ditch effort paid off. And I actually behaved myself today which has not been the norm for weigh in day. Usually it's a write off. I think in the back of my mind, I'm thinking this week may be the time to get back down again following a 21K run. But maybe not because my muscles will be recouping and retaining water. Who knows?!? I never can predict. Thursday AM is always a surprise.
Anyway, 8K run today after work and a quick 4K tomorrow will round out the training. We'll see if it's been enough on Sunday. I'll say out loud now that I'm hoping for a 2hr 20min finish time. OK, now I'm nervous!!!

The tea trick!

The colder weather has reminded me of the habit I got into last time it was cold...tea drinking!! Now don't get me wrong, I drink tea every morning but I remembered that in the evening, that is often what I would do when feeling snacky. Try tea first. Sometimes it's enough sweetness (I put skim milk and splenda in it) to trick me into thinking I don't need anything more to eat. I'll have to keep that in mind now that it's chilly out!
Food today was good (it's about time!!):

OK, I lied...

I did not find motivation this weekend. In fact, I didn't even look for it! Lee and P man were here on Saturday and Sunday as my old room and Ty's old room were being demolished! So they stayed here to be out of the way. I have been sick (finally home today from work) since Thursday with a sinus cold so we didn't do a whole lot. Just hung out and went to the school across the road to play at the playground. P man is hilarious - especially when he says "oh boy" - too freakin' cute I tell ya!
House hunting is at a stand still. There is absolutely nothing out there in this area for the price we're looking at paying. We lost the one and only house :( We are keeping our eye out but it's looking more and more like we'll be living with someone for a little while. Craziness.
Weather has been crap yesterday and today so we haven't gotten in our last runs before the big race this weekend. I hope the weather is HALF decent on Sunday...everyone please cross your fingers! 21K in the rain or snow does not = fun!
Eating has been less than stellar. I think I'm being cocky or something. I need to realize that I cannot keep eating whatever I want and not really gain. What is wrong with me???

Where did the scale go?

Under the bed apparently! I didn't weigh in yesterday because I couldn't find the scale. Our bathroom is not the biggest and with the house up for sale and all, the scale had to go under our bed, unbeknownst (I've always wanted to use that word!) to me. I remembered to ask where it was last night and did my weigh in this morning. Technically, I don't really know when my last weigh in was so I guess I better go by the ticker...which means I'm up 2 lbs from Aug. 28th!!!!
Not too shabby when you think about it. I mean, throw in a wedding, a honeymoon, Thanksgiving and selling your house and 2 lbs. doesn't seem SO bad!
I need to get back under my "you're being bad" number though. I just need to find me some motivation! I'm going to look for it this weekend :)

Where I have been...

My one reader actually knows where I've been but on the off chance somebody else reads this then here you go!





Well first of all, I got married. It was an amazing day :)




Then it was off to Barcelona for our honeymoon. We stayed 3 days in Barcelona and then cruised to Nice, Florence, Rome, Naples and Sicily.




Once we came home, it took a while to get back into the groove. Hello jet lag!




We've been running in preparation for the half marathon (21K). We did our longest training run last week (20K) and all went well.


Then we put our house up for sale. And sold it in 4 days.
Because we fell in love with this one...and lost it in a bidding war.
So as of December 31st, we will be homeless! We're now going to have to go house shopping but we're still getting over the sour taste in our mouths from this other deal.
And that's been my life in a nutshell. I'm going to work on eating better as stress and Thanksgiving is getting the best of me. But my saving grace has been burning a days worth of calories on my long run...hey, whatever it takes to eat pumpkin pie, right?!?!

Friday again??

Wow, I cannot believe it's Friday again already! And in 2 more Fridays, it will be Wedding Eve :) I better get to work!!
Weigh in = -0.4 lbs!! Ha. Too funny. But I'm back in the 148 range so I'm happy.
The weekend is slotted to be busy. I get dizzy just thinking about it. We need to finalize some things + shop for some things + visit J's nanny cause she's not coming to the wedding + visit my parents to finalize some things + get my house in better shape as there will be company around in the next 2 weeks. Yikes. J is supposed to be off early today and has a "to do" list. I'm hoping that pans out!
I'd like to say that I'll check in more often but I'm not sure that's going to be happening. I WILL at least report my weight next week if nothing else.

Rest Day

Well, not too much to report for today. It's rest day so no excercise. Good thing cause I think I tweaked my foot a little yesterday. Hopefully it will be OK tomorrow.
RSVP's for la wedding are due on Saturday - we are still waiting to hear from LOADS of people. Maybe this will be much smaller than expected!! Oh well, I know the good people are coming!! Dress fitting = tomorrow! I tried it on with my shoes and I could *almost* get away without alterations...if only I were 1/4 inch taller!!
I'm an Olympics addict. I have actually moved my hair straightener and makeup to my room so I can watch in the morning while getting ready for work. I'm weird.

Moderate over-indulgance

So following a few drinks on Saturday night and not keeping track of what I ate on Sunday, I'm back. Hmmm, wonder why I don't lose weight??? Same pattern EVERY week. Good Monday - Thursday where I weigh in then spend the weekend not paying attention. By Monday morning, back up 3 lbs that I lose from Monday to Thursday. This was a fine pattern when I was at goal weight but I'm not liking it right now.
You would think my solution would be to quit misbehaving on the weekend - sounds reasonable, right? But I don't learn apparently. I'm hoping that my running will help me out this week. If not, I may actually have to track points on weekends - GASP!!!!
I ate well today and followed points and got in a 10K run after work (in between the thunderstorms!!). We didn't eat dinner until 7:30pm so snacking after dinner has not been a problem, thankfully :)

My scale doesn't care

I was actually thinking that I did OK this week. I mean, I wasn't the perfect weight watcher but hey, I did run 22K this week. My scale couldn't tell apparently. Or it just didn't care. I'm the SAME weight. No less, no more. I didn't let that get me down though - I went and started my new week off with a 6K after work today. Take that you stupid scale!!!

Let's be honest,

today was not my best day. You would think there would be extra willpower due to the fact that tomorrow is weigh in day. But, no. Not the case. I had a crap day at work which resulted in a lack of lunch. That resulted in a headache and a NEED for sugar. So, a peanut butter cookie later, I was starting to feel better. Until I got home and J informed me that we need to finalize the caterer/cake situation + write thank-you's + think about the 11 other things that are on my wedding to do list. SO - on to the crackers, cream cheese and hot pepper jelly I go. I tried to convince J to get us take out for dinner but just before he left, I decided I could muster up the energy to make some pita pizzas. Following that, there may have been a wagon wheel.
So, all in all - not the best coping skills today. I need to find a better way to deal with the stress. We'll see in the AM what the damage is. Wish me luck...

I'm doing thank-you notes tonight. Wrists hurt from writing. Will still have another round after tonight...just...can't...say...thanks...anymore!!!!
Food was good. Today was rest day. My calves wouldn't have it any other way. I stretched good afterwards as they were tight as SOON as I stopped running but to no avail, I guess.
Tomorrow = run and watching some baseball.

OK, time to 'fess up...

Although, technically NOT my weigh in day - last Monday I stepped on the scale to find myself 5lbs over goal (and 3 lbs above my "get your ass in gear" number). So my numbers on my ticker never did reflect that number. On Friday, I had managed to be down 3 lbs but could not move my ticker as it never reflected Monday's number in the first place. So that is the scoop on how weigh in went.
The weekend in review is next:
On Friday night, we went to the OC and met up with L, J and little P. He is such a riot - just randomly wandering around the mall (with mom close in tow) stopping and waving at random people and just yelling Da-da-da-da. Then he breaks into his dancing. Too freakin' funny. Anyway, my point was that we went out to dinner and I ordered mahi-mahi with mango salsa, rice pilaf and bok choy. I was trying to be good. Sucky thing was, the mango salsa wasn't very good and the bok choy was drenched in oil. Gross! At least I tried!
On Saturday, we went to pick up the bridesmaid dresses (YAY!). Following a speeding ticket on the way there, we decided we needed a drink! There is the neatest little restaurant there and we ate on the patio. I may have had the best drink of my life - a strawberry whip (strawberries, Baileys, french vanilla ice cream and ice all blended together - SOOOOO good!). Then I had an apple/pecan salad and we shared bruschetta bread and spinach dip. Not the best behaviour. But certainly not the worst!
Today, I had a bagel for brekkie, cucumber rolls and shared Pad Thai with John for lunch, and blue menu mushroom pizza and salad for dinner. The thing I'm thrilled to report about for today is that I completed a 11.07 km run in 1hr, 10min. burning 775 calories according to my Nikeplus ipod thingy. I'm SUPER excited about this. I ran by myself as well and that is the farthest I have run by myself. I didn't know if I could do it!!!
Anyway, that about sums it up. I'm hoping I didn't screw up too much this weekend and that I can see my good number on the scale by Thursday.

Wow - 2 in a row!

I'm back to say, today went well despite feeling a bit like crap! I went wakeboarding on Monday and to say that I'm frickin' paying for it today would be a HUGE understatement. I couldn't lift my arms to get my shirt off!!! BUT somehow, I wiggled out of it and into la running clothes and off I went for my 5K run :) I got the Nike + do-hickey to attach to my ipod and a sensor on my shoe and voila, it tracks my distance/time AND plays music for me! It also all downloads onto the Nike site and I can track all my progress. Exciting to say the least :)
I was well behaved in the food category today as well -

Well...Hi!!!

OK, so this isn't going to be long but I was inspired by Jen's healthy food pics and I actually started to track my food today and I have a plan for tomorrow :) It's been a while since I've done that. I need to kick it up into losing mode for a bit and get back into the groove of things. I'm at my 2 lb-over-goal-limit and need to remedy this. I went grocery shopping and bought some good food and I'm ready to go!
I've also mapped out a run that I need to make happen tomorrow!!! Hopefully it's not humid/thunderstorming!
And wedding wise, I need to go look up a seamstress and make an appointment for some fittings!!
There, that's the plan for the short week!

Yo-yo

That's me. I've weighed in the last 3 mornings in a row and my weight has varied by 7 freakin' pounds!! I was way down Wed. morning, way up Thurs. morning and back to my usual this morning. I have decided to take this mornings weigh in for this week. It puts me up a pound since I last weighed in but....STILL in goal range!!
My goal for this blog the next little bit is to try and pop in twice a week. Once for an update and once for weigh in results. The wedding is starting to loom over my head (2.5 months to go). AHHHHHHH!!! Maybe I should order some invitations????? I need to get my butt in gear.
In excercise news, all is well. Running 3-4 times a week. The Milk Run is in July and we *might* do the 10K. If not, we're going to do a kick ass 5K.
Going car shopping this weekend. My lease is up soon. Also going to look at tuxes for the wedding. Also need to finalize boat plans for the wedding.
Again, AHHHHHH! is all I have to say. :)

It's a miracle...

So for the last month, craziness has come upon me and I can't even think straight!! Nevermind count points! I have not been counting points but I've been eating a lot of my "regular" meals with a few uncalled for snacks here and there. We are up to running 7km and are consistently running 3-4 times a week.
The point of all of this is that I weighed in this morning AND....I'm 1 lb below goal!!! How exciting is that. I think this whole WW thing has become a bit of a habit. Paired with the excercise, I have been able to stay in an acceptable range without being consumed by it. That is good news because the craziness doesn't seem to be slowing down :)
Sorry for the lack of updates. I will try to get on here more often!

to LONG weekend! Yeehaw! That could not be more exciting to me. I've taken Friday off on vacation as well as getting Monday off as a stat. How awesome is that???
Not too much else to say. I have to go to a retirement dinner tomorrow night (yes, the night before weigh in - yikes!). I'm hoping that there will be some OK options there. I will do the best I can :)

I'm Popeye the sailor man...

OK folks, time to get back on track. Gotta pull up my socks, lace up my running shoes and get my ass in gear!!! Also, need to detox the body - water is my friend. I need to remember that. I do not need fatty, sugary food. Veggies and fruit are good for me...they fill me up for minimal points. I need fibre, I need vitamins, I NEED to smarten the heck up.
There, now that the pep talk is over, I will share with you my menu for today and maybe my post title will make sense :)

Bizarre new weight loss secrets

#1. Drinking until 4am is OK as long as it is offset by dancing.
#2. Eating cake 3 times in a week will actually boost your metabolism.
#3. Not running will give your body a much needed rest and fool it into thinking it doesn't need muscle anymore.

Ok, ok all kidding aside, I have somehow managed to lose 1lb today.
This journey never seems to be predictable!

Mmmmm...

Banana chocolate chip 1 point muffins - oh how I've missed you!! It's funny how you forget about a favourite, good-for-you recipe and then once you try it again, it tastes even better! I didn't have any applesauce so I ended up putting in an extra banana and I think they turned out even better! And so far, I've only had one.
Last night, we had company for dinner. I made a grilled veggie dish that was really yummy. And a marinated grilled portabello mushroom for myself - also yummy. Everyone else got steak! I love summer and BBQing!
It will be interesting to see how tomorrow's weigh in is going to go. I'm pretty sure the scale and I won't be the best of friends considering the food consumption and lack of runs. We shall see.

Did you miss me???

Whew! What a freakin' weekend! We had the successful Jack and Jill on Friday night (made about $1400 and that was without running the bar!). Then, since family was around for the Jack and Jill, we had an early Mother's day on Saturday. AND THEN, Sunday was my family's shower for the bride and groom. I had to go back to work for a rest! I seriously had a super hard time getting up this morning.
So, needless to say, Weight Watchers was kinda the last thing on my mind. Drinks were flowing. Food was good. The good news was that on Thursday, I lost a whole 0.2lbs...pfft!
My running partner is on holidays so I need to get some motivation and get my butt out there.
And that's my update!
I will try to be more present this week! Although, tomorrow I might not be around!!!

Desperate times...

call for desperate measures! Yep, running in the rain it was. It was cold and wet but that's what I deserve since I haven't stopped eating since my birthday!!!
I'm stressing about the J & J coming up this weekend. I hope we can make some money. And I hope I can stop stress eating over it!!! Craziness, I tell you.
I did OK with food today, except for that one cookie. Oh and the pita chips. Damn it!!

and 2 pounds heavier! Not a good trend. I will have to work on that. However, I'm not sure what I expected since my birthday seemed to last for 4 days straight :)
There were runs on Mon, Tues, today and tomorrow. That should help.

Yep it was kind enough to not forget my birthday and it GAVE me 0.6lbs. What a wonderful scale I have...
Oh well. I had a fun b-day yesterday that probably gave me even more that 0.6lbs. We'll see if I can rein myself back into the routine again this week. If not, hey...you only turn 30 once...THANK GOD!!!

Does *mostly* good count?

We'll see tomorrow if the pizza slip up has ruined my good week. 3 runs in, 3 DVD workouts, and some fairly decent food intake should = loss. I'd even be happy staying where I am. So we'll see what the scale decides to give me for my big 3-0! SCARY. I'm ready to move on from it already and it hasn't even happened!! Good news - signed up for the half marathon in October so there's no turning back now! My 30th year will be an action packed one!

It doesn't make sense!

Why do I want to eat during the Biggest Loser??? Shouldn't I be motivated to NOT eat or do some crunches or something? One would think so! Anyway, I'm resisting the urge for now...
Unfortunately, I have succumbed to peer pressure today. We ordered pizza for lunch at work today. I CANNOT say no to pizza. My ultimate weakness. Anyway, it was good and it was MY choice. I went for a run after work and had a light dinner (hmm, maybe that explains the snackiness right now?). Run scheduled for tomorrow as well. Then Thursday is a free for all!!!

Pat on the back...

After FINALLY feeling back to normal on Saturday (goodbye 4 days of feeling like I could vomit at any given moment) - I got in some activity!!! I called my cousin on Saturday to see if she was up for some sort of DVD workout. She wanted to do the Billy Blanks Ultimate Bootcamp. Following 25min. of hardcore abs, we realized that she had put in Ultimate Abs instead of the bootcamp. So off goes that and onto 60min. of bootcamp.
Then today, after feeling like I'd been punched in the stomach repeatedly, we did a 40min cardio workout to try and loosen up. Wouldn't you know, later in the day, my running partner called. So off we go for our 4K run this afternoon.
My eating has been fairly on track as well which is quite unusual for a weekend!!
Now I just have to continue this into the week. Here's hoping!!!

It's a loss

I'm down a pound. Probably something to do with the nauseous feeling that I can't seem to get rid of. Hello Gravol, my new best friend. It should also have a little to do with the excercise I managed to get in despite the yucky cold and stomach issues.

Life is crazy

So sorry I've been majorly absent this week. I can't seem to catch up. I've been sick since my last post with a cold and then been extremely nauseous the last couple days...weird. On top of that, we were busy with taxes, family, booking a wedding officiant (YAY), and stressing about J's mom going for bypass surgery. Yikes. Surgery was today and she is "stable". I guess that's as good as you can expect for now. We'll hear more tomorrow. I've already booked off on a sick day tomorrow and have taken a vacation day for Friday. Here's hoping that will help.
WW wise - who the heck knows!! I've done 2 runs and the Cardio Max BL DVD (yes, I finally spotted it at Costco). Eating has been strange as I've been eating what I think will stay down the last few days. So we'll see.

WW week in review

2 days spent refusing cookies
Outcome: down 0.6 lbs "officially". If we take into account the fact that I didn't weigh in last week due to a terrible WW week then it would look better than it is :) I'm still quite thrilled. And I've started the new week off well - another 4km tonight!

Also, let it be known, I am having chocolate milk, twizzlers and bits and bites for SNACK night! Not all at the same time though!!!

I went shopping with my cousin after work to look for an outfit for her for their shower this weekend. I ended up buying $4.89 pj bottoms. LOVE my pj's!!! How to tell if you're ready for kids...

if you can survive babysitting a sick one!! Not that Little P wasn't his cute little self, just not as happy as usual. And the nose was quite a bit runnier. And the wake up call in the AM was a little bit earlier! I'm not ready for my own yet. That's what I've learnt!!
On another note...I went running tonight! It felt great to get out there and do something. Winter sucks. It hinders my running which hinders my mood. I'm glad to be out there again.
On the food front. I have followed my points today and am determined not to go above my goal weight. We'll see if I can accomplish that. It seems to be a busy week again so I need to concentrate on following my food plan and getting in some exercise. I WILL do it. Really.

Where does the time go??

Good Friday = family over to my house for fish and chips

Sunday = family Easter get together and staying over in P town
Monday = getting cleaned up and organized for work week
Tuesday = WORK + candle party that I couldn't get out of (7-10pm!!!)
Wednesday = WORK + J's mom's B day
Thursday = WORK + baking and cooking for Jay's B-day at our house on Friday
Friday = 1/2 day of WORK (I can't handle it!!!) + further prep for B-day and prep for Little P to stay at our house all weekend!!!!
Sat/Sun = Babysitting cutest nephew in the world (drawback - he has a cold and hasn't been sleeping well :(
Monday = WORK AGAIN!!!!!!

I think I may have lost my sanity at some point along the way!!!!! Actually, I'm sure of it.

As expected,

I'm up 0.4lbs putting me exactly at goal weight. I will need to behave somewhat this weekend to prevent a gain next week. Talks have begun regarding the start of running season again so that couldn't come at a better time!
Anyway, I could NOT be happier that it is a long weekend and I am DONE work for 4 days!! I'm having a glass of wine as I type. And there might be a few more to come :)

Just keep saying it...

I am not hungry, I am not hungry, I am NOT hungry!!!! I'm not sure what I am...snacky I guess. Bored? I just want to eat.
I have to be honest, I'm not really expecting any downward movement on the scale tomorrow. This whole snacky thing happened last night too and I ended up having a bowl of stawberry medley all bran (i'm addicted) and some 100 cal hostess cupcakes that I have been hoarding for WAY too long. Stale city! But did that stop me? Nope, ate all three of them.
Food today:
B- ww bagel with cheez whiz (3)
L- mushroom and brie soup (3), cukes and yellow pepper with hummus (0), yogurt (1), strawberries (1)
D- baked potato with ff sour cream and feta cheese (5), garlic roasted brussel sprouts with balsamic reduction (0) - I agree, very strange dinner. Imagine if I ever get preggers???

We made a trip to Costco this weekend, so my food today is a wee bit more exciting than usual! Sadly, I did not spot the Biggest Loser workout. However, it was extremely busy so I may have just missed it in my frustration of trying to actually get people to move out of the way!
Today was a typical Monday. I was tired and bummed that the weekend was already over!

The reality check

Ok, I'd like to start off this post by saying that this is my perception of me. It may be skewed but I think everyone's own perception of themselves is to some degree.
I weigh 147lbs (a total loss of 31lbs). My goal when I started this whole thing was 150lbs. Since then, I had decided that it would be good to be under 150 and that would be my trigger number (ie. when I get there, DO something about it!). I have maintained my weight since Oct. 19/07 - not once have I hit 150lbs although I have been super close!! I wear S-M shirts. I actually bought a size 4 dressy shirt recently. I also bought S pyjamas from La Senza. My pants are about a size 8. The dress that I bought from Le Chateau for the fall wedding I went to...Small. My wedding dress is a size 8.
That is all compelling evidence that I need to be happy. I'm there. I've accomplished what I have wanted to. Why does it not seem like enough though??? That is the question. When I got to 150 lbs, why wasn't that enough? Why do I now feel like 142 is the magic number? And if I were to get there, then what?
I need to stop obsessing with the numbers. But I'm scared. I've read that people that weigh themselves daily, are more likely to maintain. That, to me, is an important fact.
I need to get it through my head that I don't need to lose more weight. But I see things in the mirror that I still don't like.
I don't know what the answers are to any of this. I'm hoping this is just a touch of the winter blues that is dragging me down. It just needed to be said.

That weight loss ticker has been stressing me out all week!! I'm glad to see that cute little scale move in the right direction this week! I'm down 1.2lbs. I don't have a problem with that. I've been thinking a lot lately about "my goal". There might be a "reality check" post coming soon as I've been thinking about it forever. Stay tuned for that one!
I'm looking forward to tonight. It's our Thursday nighter in P-town. There will be non-ww food and wine. There, I've confessed. I'm having a PLANNED cheat night!

Tzatziki sauce, where are you?

I'm pretty sure I'm losing it. I was excited about my ryvita crackers and tzatziki sauce for lunch today. So I went to pack my lunch this AM and tore the fridge apart...no tzatziki to be found. I went so far as to check my trunk to see if it had fallen out on my way home from the grocery store. No luck. Then I see my receipt on the kitchen table...I didn't buy tzatziki!!!! What a moron! I seriously remember standing in front of it at the store and would have bet my life that I bought some. Bizarre!! Then to top things off, I was making my tea to take to work as well as my crystal light and what do I do? Pour the crystal light packet into my tea that already has a tea bag and milk in it! Gross! Wouldn't you know, I was already running late! I am losing it.
Food today:
B- ww bagel and ff cream cheese (3)
L- 0pt. soup (0), ryvita sourdough rye crackers (1) topped with cottage cheese (2) and hot peppers (0) - it was no tzatziki but still good!!, yogurt (1) with strawberries and pineapple (1)

Planks

Yes, surprisingly enough, I just did some excercise! And it hurt! I think I bruised my elbows trying to do the crazy planks. I love hardwood but it's not the greatest if you're trying to do sit-ups/push-ups and planks! Oh well. I did something!
I did some grocery shopping after work today and got some fresh veggies and some strawberries and pineapple. I can't wait for strawberry season! I discovered that shopping at 5pm is not the greatest idea though. Besides having to walk the aisles 3 times over to go back and get stuff, I also ended up putting a lot in my cart that I didn't need to because I was super hungry!! The good thing is, I didn't wolf it down when I got home. I will save it for when I deserve a treat and portion it correctly! SO there!
Food today:
B- ww bagel with ff cream cheese (3)
L- 0pt progresso soup from the states (0!), egg salad sandwich (3), yogurt (1), raspberries and mango (1)
S- Melba toast (2)

5 day weekends?

If only! And then 2 day work weeks. Hmmm, I think I could get elected with this platform!
I've had a head cold since last Tuesday and I'm still feeling like my head might explode, daily! Did this cause me to rest and take it easy on the weekend? Nope.
Friday - looked at a hall for a Jack and Jill. Went out for dinner and had some drinks and folded up some invitations.
Saturday - laid low during the day, then went to dinner at my cousin's. Played Wii. Had drinks. Folded more invitations.
Sunday - had the Cliff family over for dinner. Therefore, cleaned house, made dinner/dessert. Played with little P. Had drinks. Clocks had gone forward. Felt SO tired. Did not sleep one wink.
Monday - worked with exploding head! Sneezed every couple minutes. Good times.
I definitely have hit the winter blahs...big time. I cannot stand the snow and just want it to be spring already. That really does not help in getting motivated to excercise.

Food over the weekend was not terrible. Drinks didn't help. No activity, yet again.
Food today:
B - corn bran (2), 1/2c. milk (1)
L- ww bagel (2), cup of soup (1), salad (0), yogurt (1) with mango and raspberries (1)

What NOT to eat...

Is there a show for that? If there was a video camera in my house this week, they would have hours of footage to sort through! Do you think one good day can outweigh 6 bad??? Funny how I told myself I didn't care for the entire 6 days and then today rolls around and guess what??? Apparently I care! Better late than never?
Jen has reminded me that I need to go get some healthy, colourful food and that will help. I also think if it would stop being WINTER, that would help too. Unfortunately I do not control the weather. In fact, I've been trying to figure out for the past month or so, why I live in Ontario. Damn family ties! Ok, now all I can think of is Micheal J. Fox!
Oy, I'm very scattered today! I was home sick yesterday and I ate everything but the kitchen sink. Unfortunately my sickness is a sinus cold and doesn't seem to affect my appetite. Today I went to work, not because I was feeling better but because I couldn't eat my house there.

Today has pretty much been a repeat of yesterday...work wise, food wise, excercise wise (meaning non-existent!). The only thing I did differently is clean the house when I got home. I guess that's something!!
I really need to make some phonecalls (ie. we need someone to actually MARRY us and I need to plan a Jack and Jill) but I just hate the thought of talking on the phone right now. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe not...

I'm BAAACCCKKK!!!

Sorry. It's been busy! I'm just getting back into the swing of things.
Here's the scoop on a couple of things:
1) Wedding dress - DONE! Sample sale in London = awesome dress for awesome price!!! Bad part is, it must be last year's "model" or something as I canNOT find a picture of it online anywhere!! It rocks though. Exactly what I was wanting, I just didn't know it!!
2) Mother of the bride dress - DONE! Sale in Lindsay and Mom found 4 dresses! We all agreed that one totally rocked on her :) Done and done!
3) WW - doing OK. London could have been better but it also could have been a lot worse! I've still got some black bean soup in the freezer which is helping up the fibre. And I bought some new soy products and tilapia filets for dinner which helps get in the protein. Oh and I also bought some fresh dill, which makes everything taste like summer!!
4) Excercise - what's that??? Seriously bad. I'm going to lose all mileage that I've built up to if I don't get back at it soon. I really wish these CUPE people could settle and plow the freakin' sidewalks.
5) Little P - cutest thing ever. He sits up by himself, he crawls, he shakes his head no, he eats Cheerios, he should go in a commercial!!!
6) McDonald's has cinnamon buns now...what the heck???

Little numbers

With no excercise in sight, I guess the big numbers are too much to hope for. I am down 0.4lbs this week. I'm OK with that. I've tried some new recipes and hopefully can carry the fibre/protein trial into next week. I'm enjoying my bagel sandwiches for breakfast and the black bean soup is yummy, especially since winter is not going away!

Why, oh why,

must a drug rep bring in lunch on the day before weigh in??? That is the question today, folks. All in all, it wasn't awful. She brought salad and sandwiches from Fancy Pants. My sandwich was pear and brie with hot pepper jelly on a croissant. Sounds weird but was super excellent! I used the "dip the fork in the dressing" trick for the salad. THEN...came the macaroon square. It would have been ok had I resisted that!

B- ww bagel with spinach omelette (3)
L- Sandwich (8?), Salad (2), Square (4?)
D- Black bean soup (3), grilled cheese sandwich (3), celery (0)

Not much to report...

Besides almost having a nervous breakdown at work, I don't have much to report :) Breakdown averted due to being able to successfully get Thursday and Friday off work. L and I are possibly going to London to watch her hubby coach the Seneca V-ball team. Original plan was to bring Little P as well but the game times are past his bedtime...so we'll see.

L - black bean soup (3) with hummus sandwich - ww bread (1), 2tbsp wendy and barb's skinny hummus (0), spinach, red pepper and dill pickle (1), yogurt (1), grapes (1)

No points left for a snack and I still felt like I wanted to chew off my arm after work despite eating 11 points for breakfast and dinner. What's up with that? And what's up with my obsession for alphabit cereal? It's not THAT good...

is underway!!! This evening I spent a few hours making black bean soup (3pts for a large serving), 1pt spinach and green onion omelettes, sundried tomato quinoa (2pts for 1/2c. serving) and cutting up pineapple and rationing out grapes.
Today's food was something like this:

S- alphabit cereal with milk (3)
L- tuna (1) with salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing (2)
S- ww toast and cheez whiz (2)

Spoiled...and lovin' it :)



Looky what I got for the day after Valentine's day...Have I mentioned that I absolutely LOVE gerbera daisies?? Too pretty!
And to top it off, yesterday was Saturday and I pretty much behaved myself. This is a first in a long time. I made a 6pt/piece lasagna for dinner with a cucumber/pepper/tomato salad tossed in ff italian dressing. AND 3pt. chocolate souffle for dessert! It was yummy. Now today, I'm going to read my new cookbook (The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook) and get some new ideas and some groceries to follow through. This WILL be a good week :) Onwards and upwards!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It was hard to get up this morning! It was also hard to get on the scale. Blah. I did, of course, gain this week. I'm up 0.4lbs. But I refuse to dwell on it. It's done. And it could have been much, much worse.
I'm probably eating pizza tonight to celebrate V-day with L and little P. J is away tonight so we'll probably go out this weekend. Already sounds like a bad food weekend! Oh well, SUTCH is life :)

I'm on the french fry diet...

I did so well today, UNTIL...I don't know what. J said he would buy me dinner cause I was tired and stressed. What did I choose? Arby's curly fries and to top it off, some mozzerella sticks. Holy gut rot! Tasted great at the time though. I could do my excercise video to make up for things but I have to be honest, I'm not going to. I'm having some trouble caring right now. Maybe it's the winter blahs. Maybe it's just me. Gotta get out of whatever it is...

As Little P would say....

Blah, blah, blah! That's how I've been feeling today. Sort of headachy/dizzy/shaky/sleepy. Is that enough ///'s for you? Skipped out of yet another run due to the weather and our city being on strike and not clearing the sidewalks. I came home and ate right away and then put in the bikini bootcamp. Now I feel really blah!!! Oh well. Workout in. That's what matters!
Oh, the exciting news - tomorrow is my Friday! I have Friday off for la dress shopping. Yay. And tomorrow night is chinese/drinks/hot tub night at L's.
One more day.

SO snacky!

So last night was not exactly according to plan. I had 2 bowls of chocolate special K and then a piece of bread with cheez whiz on it almost RIGHT before bed. What the F? Sometimes I wonder. I was super tired and should have just went to bed. Crazy! But I just couldn't talk my self out of eating. I'm going to blame it on the time of month but I SO hate doing that. I need to have control at all times of the month!!!!
Anyway, today I've been better. And Biggest Loser is on so that usually keeps me in check. I should cut up some veggies for later...
Breakfast, lunch and snack = same as yesterday
D - Veggie chili (4), "real" bread (3) with garlic spread (1)
S - Hot chocolate (1), maybe veggies and dip or celery and cheez whiz???

Soup day!

OK, I'm finally back and caught up...sort of...from my conference/busy weekend. To recap - I lost 1lb on Thursday again. It seems to be my number this month! A loss is a loss though. Not sure that this week will be the same with all the meals out that I've eaten since Thursday. But I did go running today.
Looks like there is a wedding date that is 90% confirmed. J and I will be tying the knot on September 13, 2008. And Jen will be able to come and not be hung over :) It works for everyone. Still plenty of details to sort through, of course....but it's exciting that I've gotten the date I wanted!!

Going MIA again!

Wow, what a busy week. I can't get over how busy things have been and how utterly crappy I've been sleeping! I'm trying to nail down a date for the big day but it's really inconvenient to have to work every day and not be able to make phone calls when people actually answer their phone! Whew.
I'm off to Toronto tomorrow right after work for a conference. We'll be down there until Saturday around noon. So I will be absent from the blog for a bit.
Food has been good. We opted out of our run today though...not too surprising considering the dog almost blew away this AM!

Monday??? Already???

I am SO tired. I was up through the night with a stomach ache from 230am - 430am. It sucked. I thought today was going to really suck. But it hasn't been so bad, despite the exhaustion.
Food was good. Went for a run after work. All is good.

here i am!

Quick post...down 1 lb again! I seem to be in slow motion but it's motion in the right direction so I will NOT complain :)
We had thin crust veggie pizza for dinner last night (3 pieces) and 2 pieces of cheesy bread. I figure that's about 20pts. worth of food. But I had only had 7 points (thank-you spaghetti squash!!!) the rest of the day so, overall, not as bad as it sounds.
I'm getting whisked away to a mystery location on Saturday and staying until Sunday so I cannot guarantee that I will have many posts over the weekend.

Where did the excercise go?

Why is it so hard to put everything together? One week = good activity. Next week = good food. If the sequence continues then next week should = good activity and good food, right? Yeah, let's go with that. We shall aim for that.
Breakfast and lunch today was the same as yesterday.

Mmmm, iced tea!

I found THE best diet green tea. Check it out
HERE! The diet pomegrante one is the best. I got them at Food Basics. Previous to this, I had found them at Costco ONCE and then couldn't find them again. SO exciting!
Not much to report today except food...I'm boring! Could not bring myself to do my workout video as planned. Oh well, life happens :)
Food:
B- the usual (3)
L- spaghetti squash (0), soy meat/veggie sauce (2), pineapple (1), yogurt (1)
S- grilled cheese (2)
D- Veggie sub (10) - yes, after buying all those groceries, we got subs!! We were doing some running around after work and were starving!!
S- Coffee crisp single (2) and maybe some veggies and dip later for Biggest Loser! (1)

So now I'm back...from outer space!

Mondays can sometimes be good days! Well, minus the cold and the work parts :) I had to make a choice today...I had time for exercise OR grocery shopping and meal planning. The latter won out. That doesn't really hurt my feelings too much as it was freakin' freezing out! The whole grocery trip has made me a little more inspired though. I got some good veggies and a pineapple! I forget how much I like it sometimes!
So my food day was something like this:
B- ww bagel with cream cheese (3)
L- cup of soup (1), melba toast (2), cheese (2), yogurt (1), V8 (1)
D- Chili-cheese fries - 2 servings of low fat fries (4), 1/2c. Stagg veggie chili (2), melted cheez whiz (1), Salad (1)
S- 1c. pinapple (1), maybe an aero single??? (2)

After the fries were done cooking, I threw in my spaghetti squash and cooked it up. Then I made a soy beef/mushroom/green pepper/garlic/tomato sauce mix to go with it. It works out to 2 pts. per serving. I'm very excited about this for lunch tomorrow...with pineapple for dessert!!
Now I just need some exercise...it's never-ending!!!

Sick :(

AGAIN! This cold is nothing like the November cold I had after the wedding I went to. That one may have been the worst cold of my life. This one is more of just a sinus cold and sneeze attack...but still crappy nonetheless!
In keeping with Jen's idea to track what I have eaten and move on:

S- aero single (1), pomegrante (didn't like it though so didn't eat much!)
That's all so far. I really need some groceries but I'm not sure if I can convince myself to leave the house at this point. We'll see how the rest of the day goes.

Frustration

I am frustrated with MYSELF! I was bummed that I only lost 1 lb this week and what have I done about it? Ate. And ate some more. Why? I don't know. I don't understand why this is so hard. Just eat properly and excercise. What is so difficult about that? I've gotten back on the excercise band wagon, but foodwise, I'm just not there. The last 2 days I have eaten: pita chips, Skor cookies, Arby's fries, and more I'm sure. I'm not sure if it's the time of year (I hate winter) or the stress of my job (it's pissing me off lately) or just that I cannot re-commit to this following bad holiday eating. Whatever this funk is caused by, it needs to end...SOON!! I have a weight in my head that I'd like to be at and it is 5 lbs below what my "goal" is. I know it's probably not neccessary to get there, but I don't think I will feel like I have succeeded until I do. I guess I should have named my blog "The Last 10 Pounds"...who knew?

Don't know what to call this post. I don't have too much to report. Hair appointment went well...I'm darker than I've ever been but I think I'm lovin' it! It's funny to see people walk by in the hall and look at you funny. I'm not sure if they can't figure out what's different or if they just don't like it! Either way, it doesn't matter 'cause I do :) I'll try and take a picture of myself over the weekend and post it. I can't take one now as I've just come back from a run. Yay running :) This has been a pretty good excercise week. I've been hurting everyday! I've hopeful for a loss FINALLY!

L- ww soup (0), melba toast (2), hummus (1), V8 (1), fruit cup (1), yogurt (1)
S- dill pickles (0)

I'm realizing that the dill pickles and soup might not have been the ideal day-before-weigh-in food but...what can you do???

Good choice :)

Instead of snacking, I put in the damn video and did another 30min. workout. Good choice now...painful choice by tomorrow! But I guess it's "good" pain, if there is such a thing!

Pretty dresses!

After work today, I went wedding dress shopping with my cousin AND....she found her dress!! She has to rush order it as the wedding is in June. Crazy how long it takes to get a freakin' dress! It's an awesome dress though and she looks fabulous in it. So fun!
My arms/abs/back are tender today. I guess that bootcamp really did do something. I should try and do more tonight...that would be a good idea. Sometimes ideas and actions are two different things though!
Tomorrow is hair day! I'm excited. I hope it turns out how I want it to. Either way, it will grow back!

Good start

Today has started off well. Following my plan to actually stay OP! No excercise yet though. I bought a bikini bootcamp workout DVD and I'm debating whether to throw that in or go for a run. Hmmmmm....

Later: I put in the bootcamp workout and did one of the three 30 minute sessions. It was actually pretty good. My arms feel like jello and there were some good plank excercises in it. It will be handy to have when running just isn't in the works!

I cannot think of what to have for dinner tonight so I'm trying to eat as little as possible so I have some options!
Further Update: I decided on pasta for dinner. I had 3/4 c. of Catelli Smart Pasta (5), 5 veggie meatballs (4), green pepper, onion, mushroom, garlic, pasta sauce (0)

Saturday

So today has been fun. We went out for breakfast and then went shopping. We still had some stuff to exchange from Christmas so we got that all sorted out. Also made a stop at Costco to stock up on a few things...mostly diapers for Little P!!
Food has been OK until now...again having some drinks and snacks. I can't get myself back on track. I'm aiming for that to maybe happen tomorrow. OK, I'll restate that, I will be on track tomorrow AND go for a run. It's been said and now I have to be accountable :)

OK People, Brace Yourselves...

So I went to the grocery store after work (Loblaws) and I was just mulling about because I forgot why I was actually there, then all of the sudden, something catches my eye. I'm in the bread "section" and I turned the corner and....lo and behold.....WEIGHT WATCHERS BAGELS!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me???? WE have 2 point bagels in Canada!!! 100% whole wheat bagels...AND they were on sale. Golly, it must be my lucky day (everyone deserves ONE lucky day a week and I certainly have been lacking in that!). Anyway, enough of that excitement.
Today was OK. My food was acceptable. My drinks tonight though, may not be. I do not care. I am a stress eater/drinker and this week was hell. I almost cried on Tuesday night when I had to go to Kingston. And today, I had a meeting with some important people and I almost threw up right before. This HAS to get better.
Food
B- toast and cheez whiz (2)
L- grilled portabello (1), bok choy/tofu stirfry (1), noodles (2) - yummy leftovers from dinner that Lee and Little P made me!!!, yogurt (1), clementines (1)

HAPPY Friday...finally!!!

No news...

is bad news!! I didn't lose anything...not even part of a pound. Apparently my run was not enough to negate all of the bad things this week (like alcohol, bagels from Tim's, and too much overtime!!!!).
I've been stressed this week and can't be any happier that it is Friday.

Blah

So just as I finished saying that I was going to relax and watch Biggest Loser, I got called back to work. I had to go in the back of an ambulance to Kingston...yes, I said Kingston. I got home at 33oAM. We stopped at Tim Horton's on the way back and I got a bagel with light cream cheese. I was so tired at that point, I didn't care what I was eating and I was starving! So it was a good thing that I had gone running as that should *almost* cancel out the bagel!
Anyway, I didn't have to go back to work today so there's the bonus I guess. I've just been hanging out and doing some laundry and trying to wake up!
Food today so far:
B - bagel with cheez whiz (3)
L- flatout wrap with hummus and veggies (2), cup of soup (1), veggies and dip (1)
S - clementine (0.5), tea (0), lemon square (2)

s- the last chocolate pretzel bar (2), 2 after 8 chocolates (2)...craving chocolate much???

YAY!

So I got home from work today and went out for a run by myself, without my ipod (no charge left), in the rain. How's that for sticking with the plan??? 4KM later...I made and ate dinner and am now sitting back to relax and watch Biggest Loser. Maybe I'll get some planks in during the show. All in all, a VERY good WW day :)
Menu:
B - ww toast with cheez whiz (2), 2 clementines (1)
L - salad (1), ff cottage cheese (2), yogurt (1), fruit cup (1) - btw, BEST fruit cup I've ever had. I don't usually buy them but saw the Dole tropical fruit ones that have pineapple and papaya.
S - 6 mini Lindor chocolate balls (4)
D - Flatout pizza - Flatout wrap (1) with 2 tbsp tomato paste (0), red pepper, hot pepper, tomato (0), cheese (2) + salad (1) + spaghetti squash lasagna (1)
S - chocolate pretzel bar (2)
Still room for a snack later...not sure what though.

Exciting news for next week - a HAIRCUT!! and colour. What a concept! My hair has been driving me crazy so it's long overdue!! I think I'm going to go for more red...

The best laid plans....

ALWAYS get screwed up! I was so excited to run today...unfortunately, it's 6pm and I'm STILL at work. Was supposed to be done at 4pm but instead will be here until 7. By the time I get home and eat, I will be pretty much going to bed so I can come back to work tomorrow.
Eating today has not been a problem. I only brought a lunch and no money so I've eaten 8 points in the last 11 hours. J has already promised that there will be a sub waiting on my return home. So here's the breakdown:

What is wrong with me???

Today has been BAD. Very, very bad. I have absolutely no idea how many points I have eaten. Tomorrow I will be back on track. I have packed my breakfast and lunch and plan on running no matter how slushy/rainy/icy/snowy/blizzardy it is. NO excuses.
Tomorrow will be a better day. There is no option.

Willpower, where are you???

My parents are back from Vegas. Apparently I thought that was reason to celebrate! Drinks were flowing. Food wasn't so bad...until I drank too much. Then there's NO control.
Yesterday's menu:
B: 1 egg (2), 2 ww toast (1)
L: soup (0), crackers and cheez whiz (4)
S: Fruitfull gumdrops (2)
D: Pasta (3), Shrimp (0) - 110 little shrimps = 1pt. I did not have 110!, WW sauce that mom made (1), Spaghetti squash lasagna (1) - that was my contribution!, salad (1)

Flex points gone. Willpower obviously gone!!

I was going to call this "The Amazing Adventure of Veggie Girl" but then realized I don't really have any adventure to talk about! But I have eaten close to my weight in veggies today!! And I'm FULL :)

I'm up 4.4lbs! The good news is that the wiggle room has saved me a bit. I'm technically 1.2 lbs above goal and I believe if I was "legitimately" on WW, that would still be OK for maintenance!

Give me the strength...

to get back on track TOMORROW! Yes, I know I could start tonight but it's not gonna happen! A few too many drinks last night have produced a mild hangover...which for me, means constant eating. I feel like I could eat forever. And I have! I will spare you the details but I'm saying now that I WILL be on points tomorrow and back to the menu challenge!
I've decided to officially make a goal for 2008. I don't usually do resolutions so Jen's clarification between goals and resolutions has made me decide to set a goal. My goal is to run a half marathon for my 30th year. I think it's going to be in the Niagara Falls run again. It's nice to run in the fall when the humidity doesn't make you feel like you're dying! I would also like to try and do my ab plank excercises 3 times a week. But I'll just say that aloud rather than resolving to do it!!
2007 has been a great year...with the highlight being Little P's arrival, of course! I wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2008 and I thank my sole supporter, Jen for reading my blog and always having a positive outlook, even when I can't see it! Thanks Jen :)
